Spring/Summer/Fall
No extra charge for a guided tour of our herb garden, refresh afterward with a cup or glass of tea picked by you!

Or ask for a special cooking or herbal preparation class, and for $50 we will spend an hour preparing pesto when the basil is grown or comfrey ointment for all your aches and pains; $100 for both programs for up to six people! Take home samples of what you've fixed to enjoy, or larger quantities available for purchase, subject to availability.

Halloween Happenings-Weekends in October
Six Flags New England puts on a great show for Halloween, and it's just ten minutes away!

We''ll treat you to one admission for every two nights booked,

or, if you come by train or bus,

we will take you to the park and back for free ( excluding Friday night and Saturday ) if you book at least two nights or two rooms.

Help us carve a pumpkin and give our sweets to the procession of ghosts and goblins that appear at our door, then take in an adult party in town or take your own kids trick or treating in our historic neighborhood.

Underground Railroad Adventure

Although the Lathrop House B&B in Springfield, Massachusetts was built in 1899 after the Civil War, its location is perfect for visiting the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center in Hartford CT. A tour of the Stowe House provides an intimate glimpse into the life of the author of Uncle Tom's Cabin. Also only a half hour away is the Connecticut Freedom Trail, a tour of buildings reported to have been used on the Underground Railroad, sites associated with the Amistad case of 1839-1842, and gravesites, monuments, homes, and other structures that represent the concept of freedom so cherished in the American mind. In celebration of Black History Month, The Lathrop House B&B offers a third night or third room free for January and February bookings, as well as a 10 per cent discount to all two-night or longer stay visitors who show a receipt from one of these historic sites visited when they stay with us.

From late February through early April, farmers in nearly every hill town village in Massachusetts honor an old New England tradition. They take to the woods with buckets, tubing and drills to gather the sap from sugar maple trees, boiling it down to pure maple syrup. Sugaring is the first sign of the annual agricultural awakening.
