We have a two-night minimum for guests arriving on Friday. Please ask if you have a hardship that would preclude your being able to enjoy that  length of stay.

Towels, pillows, etc: We use only 100% cotton and hang the laundry out to dry. Some guests find the towels surprisingly different in texture to the ones they are used to that may be washed and dried with chemical softeners. Ours have an "invigorating" texture which provides a kind of spa/scrub experience, but we do have a few softer ones in reserve if this is uncomfortable for you. We are delighted to change pillows depending on your desire for soft/firm/feather/synthetic/foam/etc. Just ask! We want to please you.

Drugs: By David Abel, Globe Staff / November 5, 2008 Voters yesterday overwhelmingly approved a ballot initiative to decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana, making getting caught with less than an ounce of pot punishable by a civil fine of $100. The change in the law means someone found carrying dozens of joints will no longer be reported to the state's criminal history board. Please do not bring illegal substances onto the premises or use them anywhere on our property, in consideration of our other guests and out of respect for the law.

Tobacco: You are welcome to smoke cigarettes on our porches and garden, if it does not inconvenience others who may be near you. We will appreciate your using the ash-trays provided.

Alcohol: We are happy to provide a bottle opener and glasses if you bring your own wine or other alcoholic beverage. Please consume in moderation and use a designated driver or ask us to arrange a ride for you.

Pets: $25 extra per pet. Cat owners: please bring your own food, litter and water pans and supplies. Dog owners: no dogs left alone in rooms at any time, except if in a crate and does not bark; must be on leash when going through the house; pick up after your dog in the yard and neighborhood. Enjoy reading about Holly the bloodhound, our celebrity canine guest.

Destruction of property:If you used a bleach on your face, or not used hygienic pads, it has ruined an expensive set of king sheets. Please be considerate and pay before leaving for damage done. Please strip the bed and make sure you tell us if you have soiled or broken something. Perhaps we can fix it or clean it before the damage becomes permanent.

Off-street parking: Behind the house, please lock your car doors anyway.

Wireless Internet: Please ask us for the code - you will have access anywhere on the property, including in the garden!

Children: We request the following responsibility of parents:

If our guests find their children have soiled our property and would like to avoid charges, please strip the beds, and otherwise notify us immediately so we can try to remove all the stains. We reserve the right to decide whether the stain has been removed to the point that no other guest would notice either a smell in the mattress or vomit by the bed. Our standards for appearance are high. We cater to discriminating guests and we will not compromise because you "tried" to clean up the vomit but didn't tell us for two days. At check out, we will go through the room with our guests. If we had not had such experiences with other parents, we would not be trying to ensure it doesn’t happen again!

Tips are welcome. A cute jar in each room is provided. We love great reviews on Trip Advisor too!

Thank you.
